BIOGRAPHY - JAMES M. CUNNIFF
James M. Cunniff is a principal of Abair Associates, a consulting firm specializing in Enterprise Resource Planning and Business Reengineering related consulting and education.
Mr. Cunniff has extensive on-going experience in locating, qualifying and developing suppliers of high quality, low cost goods in Asia. He has a proven record of significant cost savings with suppliers from Taiwan, China, India, Korea and Italy.
Mr. Cunniff's experience includes development and implementation of Vendor Managed Inventory programs for suppliers located in the United States, China, Italy and Taiwan. He was also involved in the specification, selection and implementation of an MRP II software system, which facilitated migration to JIT execution. He then served as a corporate consultant to complete the installation of that software solution in five divisions in the United States, in Canada and Mexico. Implementation included monitoring the development of policies and procedures, as well as the training of department managers. Prior to that assignment, Mr. Cunniff was a Materials Manager during implementation of MRP I and MRP II systems.
During many years with METSO Automation, formerly Jamesbury Corporation, Mr. Cunniff was Sourcing Vendor Manager, Project Manager – Manufacturing Planning and Control Systems, Materials Manager and Technical/Administrative Support Manager. Prior experience included that of Quality Assurance Engineer, Test Engineer and Manufacturing Engineer with Warren Pump Company and American Optical Company.
Mr. Cunniff has a B.S. is Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth and an M.S. in Management Science and Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Mr. Cunniff has been an Officer and an Instructor for the American Production and Inventory Control Society, Worcester County Chapter. He was also Chairman of the Just-In-Time Special Interest Group of the Cincom User Group, a software user group. He has been a speaker at their national conventions.
