BIOGRAPHY – JOHN A. VOLPE

John A. Volpe is a principal of Abair Associates, a consulting firm specializing in Enterprise Resource Planning and Business Reengineering related consulting and education.

John has spearheaded the development af e-business and IT strategies, has been instrumental in the selection and implementation of a variety of business software packages, has been an integral part of an SAP implementation team, teamed to create and implement organization change management methodoligies, and was instumentatal in the development of IT QA and Help Desk functions.

John has more than twenty-five years of management experience in various manufacturing, distribution, and service companies. Prior positions include CIO of a chemical manufacturing company, CIO for an energy absorption and transmission company, and COO and Vice President of Product Development for a firm focusing on ERP packages for the defense industry.

He has operated within a variety of domestic and global businesses which include a customer base in the retail, wholesale, government, aftermarket, mail order, entertainment and OEM markets and product lines that included basic and specialty chemicals, bulk pharmaceuticals, automotive parts, off road brake systems, fasteners, and a variety of consumer packaged goods His client base includes Conair Corporation, Echlin Manufacturing, Gerber Garment Technology, Paramont Pictures, Garden Way and Lonza Inc.

He has a BS in Mathematics from Villanova University and an MBA from the University of Connecticut. In addition he has taken extensive courses in management, IT and ERP related topics.

He was a founding member of the Connecticut chapter of the Society for Information Managers and an active member of APICS. He has been an instructor at Fairfield University and the University of Connecticut.
